In this episode, business coach Clay Clark (former US Small Business Administration Entrepreneur of the Year) talked with Caleb Taylor about how to create a remarkable advertisement and develop your purple cow for networking. What is a purple cow? Best-selling author Seth Godin teaches his marketing principles that include the purple cow. This means that you must be remarkable when you are advertising or marketing. If you are not remarkable, you are doing the same thing as being invisible.  For networking, it is very important that you create some type of remarkable spectacle went connecting with people. You must be memorable immediately, otherwise you will be easily forgotten. At networking events, people are meeting other business owners and entrepreneurs at an alarming rate. If you were not were memorable than everybody else, then you will be forgotten as soon as the event ends. This is why it is more important to develop a few deep relationships rather than many superficial and shallow ones. Put a priority on developing relationships with the people that you value the most. In this episode, business coach Clay Clark discusses the advertisement that Dr. Robert Zoellner used to create a buzz in the Tulsa market for his optometry clinic. However, many people (his competitors) did not appreciate the aggressive marketing tactics that you use. The important principle is that it is impossible to get everybody to like you. If you work hard to make everybody like you, that you will end up with a brand and product and service that is so bland that it does not have any personality at all.
