Growing a Business: One Contact At A Time – Episode 3 – Creating Your Own Luck – Part 1
Do you study what most successful business owners do? Are you networking with people that can create value for your business? In this episode, business coach Clay Clark breaks down the specific principles that you must apply in order to create your own luck. Do you ever noticed how some of the most successful entrepreneurs and business owners in the world are considered lucky. Luck is simply when preparation meets opportunity. It is vitally important that you prepare prior to when you think you will need to be prepared. This will put you in a position to take more advantage of opportunity in the long run. One of the principles that Clay Clark breaks down in this episode is the idea of implementation. Chet Holmes wrote the book The Ultimate Sales Machine which details the importance of implementation. Chet Holmes has worked with thousands of clients and ideas we’re not the reason for their failure to succeed. Implementation and execution are the most crucial part of the process. If you have a great idea but cannot execute it, then you will not be able to be successful. you must set goals or challenges for yourself in order to keep yourself engaged with your vision and business. For example, you must set up quotas for yourself daily that you’re going to hold yourself accountable to. A good quota for the number of networking contacts that you should develop over a course of the month is six. Focus on only developing those six contacts every single month, but stay diligent to that for a long period of time. If you cannot want yourself accountable, you must learn to motivate yourself or hire a business coach.
