In this particular episode, Caleb Taylor sits down with business coach Clay Clark (former US Small Business Administration Entrepreneur of the Year) to discuss what it means to take action in your business. Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic is the example that Clay Court gives for somebody who is staying busy with positive action in his particular business. He’s consistently writing new songs for artists and submitting them to talent shows, so that at some point he might mess up and sell a ton of music. Which is exactly what happened in his scenario. You cannot network in a laser focused fashion. In fact, many people that are on your networking list will not have an interest in you or you will not be able to reach them. This is why you must get out a machine gun and relentlessly network in a positive manner to people that can create value for your business. You cannot spend time hunting down people that will not create value for your business. If you waste time on people that cannot help your business grow, you will find that you will quickly running out of time for other things that are important in your business. This is the frequent problem of chamber events. It is a bunch of business owners and entrepreneurs that do not have jobs that connect and begin to form relationships with no action related to that. When you create relationships without follow-up action, the relationship is not going to help your business. Knowledge without application is meaningless.
