Growing a Business: One Contact At A Time – Episode 1 – Creating Your Own Luck – Part 3
Are you networking intentionally? Do you have a system for adding contacts to your networking list? In this particular episode, business coach Clay Clark (former US Small Business Administration Entrepreneur of the Year) sit down with Kayla Taylor to talk about what you need to do in order to network more effectively. First of all, you must make sure that you are purchasing a Dream 100 board that is so big that talk to you. In this episode, Clay Clark shows off his Dream 100 board that is a 4′ x 8′ board. The reason why you must create a tangible board is because then you cannot ignore it. When you create digital documents that are easily minimized or stored away, it will become out of sight, and out of mind. The second thing it that you must do is become remarkable. The principle that Clay Clark gets into is the purple cow. When you see a herd of brown cows, you do not take notice. However, as were driving along and you see a herd of cows and one of them is purple, that is remarkable and you will want to tell many people. This principle is easily applied through networking. If you were not remarkable during networking events or a relationship meeting that you’re having with somebody on your Dream 100 board, then you will be easily forgotten. Take a moment to brainstorm for what you can do to stand out. You must learn to become creative and intentional to stand out in a crowd.
