Are you consistently improving your skills? When is the last time you set aside time to improve? As a business owner, you must sell out to consistently improving on a weekly basis in order to achieve success. If you are an employee and you were looking to get promoted, you must ask yourself how you are improving, and what problems you are solving as an employee for your managers and business owner. When you do this you will stay up-to-date and in relevant in the business world which will make you a more valuable asset for the company. You will become known as the person who has the ability to learn anything when you create more value than what you were being paid for, you will always be viewed as somebody who has a high return on the investment. You may have a ton of potential, however if you believe you have learned everything already or are entitled to specific compensation, then you will not advance. The first thing to do in the steps to getting promoted is to eliminate the sense of entitlement. The second thing is to determine what skills or problems you must develop in order to create value for your managers. The next thing that you must do is consistently deliver on your current responsibilities so that you developed a reputation of excellence. And lastly you must maintain a positive attitude in the workplace so that you are a joy to be around. If you follow these steps then you can earn a promotion with in your workplace, and you will be recognized as one of the top performers.
