The billionaire investor Warren Buffett says that it takes 20 years to develop a reputation, and only five minutes to lose it. Consider this principle when you are working towards developing your reputation and core story within the workplace. Whether you are attending a networking event at a chamber, or you were building a relationship with a future business investor or partner, you must consider what reputation precedes you. You must work ahead of when you need to leverage your reputation in order for her to be effective. Be proactive in developing your reputation and over delivery principles.
