Damario Solomon-Simmons

Damario Solomon-Simmons is currently the managing partner of Solomon Simmons Sharrock & Associates and is also on the diversity counsel for the legal departments of the Williams Cos. and WPX Energy, Inc., (two of the largest energy companies in America). He has represented numerous NFL football players and NBA basketball players. He serves as President of the Northeastern Oklahoma Black Lawyers Association and as an adjunct professor at the University of Oklahoma African & African-American Studies Program.

Damario’s life was not always easy and learning to overcome adversity was something he was familiar with. He grew up in a low-income single-parent home and graduated from high school near the bottom of his class with attitude and legal problems. His goal was to play for the NFL, but that dream diminished his senior year when he tore his ACL and was forced to accept a football scholarship from a small school. Disgruntled, he dropped out to "find himself". Shortly after this decision he had a newfound desire to “inform, inspire, and empower.” He returned to college and over seven years he earned an Associates, Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Law Degree all with honors. He also walked on and earned two letters from the University of Oklahoma’s football team. He became the first University of Oklahoma African-American law student to be awarded the prestigious Joel Jankowsky award “Most Outstanding Graduate.” Following law school he started his own law firm that has now grown to be one of the largest African-American majority owned law firms in Oklahoma’s history.
