How Successful People Think – Episode 2 – Part 2
Spending the appropriate amount of time on your business is one of the biggest thing that you can change immediately in order to be more effective. All of the most successful entrepreneurs in the world spend more than the typical 40 hour workweek. The interesting thing about the typical 40 hour work week is that it is not typical at all. The business owners that have built large companies will tell you that they put in in 80-100 hour work weeks every week in order to get the business to where it needed to go. If you want to be as successful as Bill Gates, Elon Musk, or Steve Jobs, you must be willing to put it in the time and make the same level of sacrifices that they have made. In this episode, business coach Clay Clark talks with the former Executive Vice President of Walt Disney World resort, Lee Cockerell, to talk about the importance of spending more than 40 hours a week working towards your goals. At best, the odds of achieving a successful business within 40 hours is not possible. However, you must also schedule time to work on your other goals as well. If you focus on your business, and only your business for 80 hours per week, your other areas of life will begin to deteriorate. This includes your body. You must set aside time in order for your health and fitness every single week. Successful business owners like John D Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie, and Henry Ford all spent copious amounts of time making sure that their team was ready to be the most effective as possible prior to even seeing a human in the morning before the workday.
